5 minutes that will change your leadership

Read time: 3 minutes / Subscribe to this newsletter

Your team is waiting for direction. Meetings fill your calendar. Decisions pile up.

Sound familiar?

Last week I caught myself in a trap.

I was churning through tasks at lightning speed. Taking action after action. Yet something felt off.

Then it hit me: I hadn't asked myself what I wanted to achieve.

Here's the thing about your brain.

It processes 400 million bits each second.

But only 2,000 reach your consciousness.

What determines which bits get through? Your Reticular Activating System (RAS). Think of it as your brain's bouncer.

Your RAS filters for what matters to you. What you tell it matters.

This is where intention comes in.

Every morning, ask yourself:

"What do I want most out of today?"

It takes 5 minutes. Yet it changes everything.

Your brain starts filtering for opportunities. Solutions appear. Your actions align with your goals.

Your team notices the shift. They see a leader with clear direction.

Your clarity becomes their clarity. Your purpose fuels their focus.

💡Try this: Use your shower time tomorrow morning. Ask yourself that one question.

“What do I want most out of today?”

Let it soak in. Notice what surfaces.

Then watch how differently you show up. How much clearer your decisions become.

Five minutes of intention beats hours of unfocused action.

Start tomorrow. Your leadership will never be the same.

As Louise Hay said, “How you start your day is how you live your day. How you live your day is how you live your life.

Your coach,

Chris
