I do something that apparently only 38% of Americans do.
New Year’s resolutions.
In fact, I start working on mine every November. Reflecting, sorting, prioritizing—I love it.
Over the years, my resolutions have led to some real game-changers:
Taking a break from alcohol (six years and counting)
Quitting my corporate exec life (twice)
Writing a book
Hosting a podcast
Buying a company
And this year will be no different. I’m finally going to write book #2 and pursue a new passion project.
The theme? Midlifery.
My book, Closer Than You Think, is about not letting midlife malaise become a midlife crisis. I want to help people find purpose beyond the corner office, live fuller lives, and truly love what they do. More balance. Less drama.
I’m dedicating 50% of my focus to Midlifery, while the other 50% will continue to go toward the leadership development work I’m passionate about.
As part of this shift, I’ll be leaning in on a second weekly newsletter, One Step Closer, which is aligned with my upcoming book.
What I’m most excited about
I’m teaming up with clinical psychologist and coaching dynamo, Dr. Jeff Jennings. Jeff & I have been friends since junior high, and I’m thrilled to be collaborating.
Next year, we’ll host two in-person retreats for people who want to reclaim their lives & work. We will provide science-backed ways to help them align to their purpose and unleash what they were born to do!
Next month, I’ll be hosting Reset Your Compass—a virtual mastermind with four live Zoom sessions in December. Just like our retreats, this program is designed to help you align your life and work to your true purpose and set the stage for a balanced, fulfilling next chapter.
